William Holman Hunt
William Holman Hunt (1827-1910) was a British painter, one of the founders of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood in 1848.
Short Biography:
Obsessed with realistic detail, he travelled to Syria and Palestine to paint biblical subjects from 1854 onwards.
His works include The Awakening Conscience (1853) (Tate Gallery, London) and The Light of the World (1854) (Keble College, Oxford).
