Catherine Bell ( full name Catherine Lisa Bell ) was born on August 14, 1968 in London and she is a British born American actress who was, until recently, the co-star of the hit television show JAG.
Biography and Career :
Catherine Bell is the daughter of a British father of Scottish descent and Persian mother. Catherine Bell's parents divorced and she and her mother moved to Los Angeles, California when she was three years old. She became a naturalized citizen of the United States at age 12. Catherine Bell acted in various television advertisements as a child. Catherine Bell attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with an interest in becoming a biomedical engineer or doctor but dropped out to become a model. One of Catherine Bell's first modelling jobs was a
n extended assignment in Japan.
Catherine Bell's first appearance in a film was as a body double for Isabella Rossellini in Death Becomes Her (1992). In 2003, Bell played a supporting role in the comedy Bruce Almighty, which starred Jim Carrey. Up until April 29, 2005, Bell also played Marine Lt Colonel Sarah McKenzie on the television show JAG.
Catherine Bell is fluent in Persian. She is married to Adam Beason and has a daughter, Gemma who was born on April 16, 2003.
Catherine Bell is a survivor of thyroid cancer and had to have her thyroid removed in her 20s. She has a surgical scar on her neck.
Catherine Bell is renowned in NFL football history as being the only person ever to have correctly predicted, in a major publication, the participants in, winner, and final score of a Super Bowl before the regular season. Before the 2001 NFL regular season began, "The Sporting News" reported that Bell predicted the outcome of Super Bowl XXXVI would be: New England Patriots 20, St. Louis Rams 17.
Catherine Bell in Science :
In December 2005, Catherine Bell helped promote the gala opening of Scientology's controversial "Psychiatry: An Industry of Death" Museum, which puts forth a conspiracy theory connecting Adolf Hitler to the psychiatric profession.
In February 2006, Catherine Bell appeared in a Scientology music video called "United". Fox News reporter Roger Friedman reported receiving a copy in the mail sent personally from Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, along with a framed set of Scientology maxims such as "Never fear to hurt another in a just cause". Said Friedman of the video, Catherine Bell and other celebrities such as Jenna Elfman and Isaac Hayes were "all sort of nodding in a trance and clapping".
Catherine Bell shares her Los Angeles-area home with her husband, actor Adam Beason, and their two Italian greyhounds, Leo and Zoe.
