Vera Zvonareva was born on September 7, 1984 in Moscow, Russia. She is a tennis player who became professional in 2000.

Biography and career :

She is a professional tennis player since 2000 and has won seven titles as a single player and four titles as a doubles player until now (2007). At the beginning of her professional career she was popular for showing her emotions and not once she began crying while playing a match.

Between 2000 and 2006 she has won the tournaments at Moscow, Naples, Bol, Memphis two times, Birmingham and Cincinnati and defeated in the finals players like Maria Goloviznina, Maureen Drake, Conchita Martinez, Lisa Raymond, Meghann Shaughnessy, Jamea Jackson and Katarina Srebotnik.

In 2006 along Nathalie Dechy from France she won the doubles title at US Open. In the same year she won another Grand Slam title as a mixed doubles player at Wimbledon. Her partner was Andy Ram from Israel.

Another mixed doubles title was won in 2004 at the US Open along the same partner, Andy Ram. At the Australian Open she played as a single player and managed to reach the fourth round in 2004 and 2007.

In 2003 she had her best performance at a Grand Slam reaching the quarter-finals at Roland Garros after she had beaten Venus Williams. At Wimbledon she played the fourth round in 2003 and 2004 and at the Us Open the same round in 2004, but every time stopped there.

She is very talented and in 2004 she reached her highest position of Top 100. She was then placed on the 9th place.
