So Reg was greatly influenced by Summer of the Seventeenth Doll.I saw it in London with Ray Lawlor,Kenneth J Warren and Madge Evans.The line I remember that got the biggest laugh was 'well play the bloody thing then'.So,of course, the piano player didn't play it and walked off in a bigger huff.But it was a serious play that dealt with male issues.One of the best plays in London I ever saw in what was a golden age.So Reg hit on a real winner there. |
