Razvan Cocis was born on February 19, 1983 in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. He is a Romanian player and one of Sheriff Tiraspol right wings.

Biography and Career :

He started playing football in his natal town to an unknown team, CUG Cluj. His first coach was Mircea Cojocaru who said about Cocis that in a few time he would become a great football player.

After he played one season there he was transferred to Univeritatea Cluj, a traditional team in Romania. He played for Universitatea Cluj three seasons, between the years 2001 and 2004, in B Division (second Romanian Division).

If in the first two seasons he played only in eleven games and scored two goals, in his last season for Universitatea Cluj his skills were revealed and in 26 games he succeeded to score 12 goals.

He was in the attention of many titrated teams in Liga 1 (first Romanian League) but wasn't sold in Romania and went in Republic Moldova.

He debuted for Sheriff Tiraspol on August 14, 2004 in a game against Tiligul Tiraspol.

In the first season in Moldova they won the champion title and Razvan Cocis was one of the top scores with 12 goals in 26 games.

He also won another champion title in the next season, 2005-2006, and succeeded to score 10 goals in 22 games.

After the season 2005-2006 was remarked by good teams in Romania like Steaua Bucharest and FCU Poli Timisoara, which fought for his signature and offered great amounts of money, over 2.5 million euro, but his boss from Sheriff Tiraspol didn't want to sell him in Romania because he said they would need him to qualify in the UEFA Champions League groups.

He played in the qualifiers for UEFA Champions League three seasons but they didn't succeed to pass. In 11 games he scored three times.

Because of his good play was remarked by the manager of national Romanian team who asked for him in the first "eleven". He debuted on August 17, 2005 in a game against Andorra, which Romania won with 2-0.

Totally he played in 12 games and succeeded to score one goal against Armenia. He became one of the basic players for his national team.
