Paul Westerberg was born in Minnesota, United States. He started his career with the Replacements, famous rock bands of 80's. The rock star had an interesting entry into the musical world. According to Replacements lore, he was working as a caretaker, and while walking home from work one day, he happened to hear a punk band practicing in a basement. He talked his way into the band by convincing the singer that the other band members--Bob Stinson, Chris Mars and Tommy Stinson were going to fire him. The singer quit and he joined the group. The band became known mainly because of the song written by him. He beca
me famous through his solo performances all shook Down, Waiting for Somebody Dyslexic Heart.
The first official solo album was 14 songs which were released by Repeise Records. His songs appeared in television sound tracks, movie trailers. The song writer also played guitar with Joan Jett in album Notorious, recorded a duet for Tank Girl sound track with Jett. The solo album presented by him is Eventually, Suicaine Gratifaction. He had a setback for three years and made a comeback in 2002, in the same year he released two records simultaneously stereo and Mono. In December 2005 he re-joined with the replacements and record two new songs for a compilation titled Don't You Know Who I Think I Was? - The Best of the Replacements, which was released in 2006.
In 2006, he took on the challenge of writing a collection of songs for the animated film Open Season.
