Paul Pierce was born on October 13, 1977, in Oakland, California. He was brought up in Inglewood. While at Inglewood, Paul began participating in basketball. He played in the L.A. Forum and soon became known in the neighbourhood for his skills. The University of Kansas chose him on a scholarship for his basketball talent.
While at the University of Kansas, Paul Pierce received MVP from the Big 12 Conference Tournament in 1997 and got the credit again in 1998.
This paved the way for his NBA career. In 1998, Boston Celtics selected Paul Pierce as an addition to the team. Paul was taken in the Schick All-Rookie First Team in the 1998 season. There he scored the 2nd highest in his team with an average of 16.5 points per game. His sync with Antoine Walker, the other forward, gave the oppon
ents a tough time. The duo led the Boston Celtics to the Eastern Finals in 2001-2002. Though Celtics lost in the final, Paul had played wonderfully throughout the season and became the highest scorer of the season with 2144 points.
Paul was taken in the national team of the USA for participating in the FIBA World Championship of 2002. He had an average score of 19.8 points in the tournament.
The game-play of Paul Pierce and Antoine Walker became more efficient with the following seasons and the Celtics reached the finals resting upon the shoulders of the duo. During those seasons, Paul was always among the highest five scorers of the league. He also appeared regularly on the Eastern All-Star team.
In the 2005 season, Paul Pierce scored his best average of 26.8 points per game, but his team lagged behind with only 33 wins. Paul suffered a heavy leg injury which forced him to stay out of 35 games in the 2006 season. The Boston Celtics performed even worse that year by winning only 24 matches.
In the 2007 season, the Boston Celtics brought in two strong and famous players, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen. Along with Paul Pierce, they were known as The Big Three. The team had 66 wins that season and earned their first championship title after a long 17 years. Paul had a score of 19.7 points per game in that season.
A controversy began when Paul Pierce said a Spanish newspaper that he thinks himself to be the best basketball player in the world. His game is still in progress and this player definitely has a lot in store for us.
Paul dated Inga Newson and amongst other amorous encounters was Julie Landrum.
