Niamh Cusack was born in Dalkey, Ireland on October 20, 1959. She trained as a flautist winning a scholarship to London's Royal Academy. Subsequently studied drama at the Guildhall in London.

She played in a lot of movies: Paris by Night; Lucky Sunil; The World of Beatrice Potter; Fools of Fortune; The Playboys; The Closer You Get; American Women; Five Minutes of Heaven. Niamh also acted in many tv productions: Poirot; A Marriage of Inconvenience; Jeeves & Wooster; Chalkface; Heartbeat; A & E; Colour Blind; Cause of Death; Rhinoceros; Little Bird; State of Mind; Too Good to be True; 4.50 from Paddington; Fallen Angel; Matterhorn; Midsomer Murders
