Neil Simon (born in 1927) stage plays (which were made into films) include the wryly comic Barefoot in the Park in 1963, The Odd Couple in 1965, and The Sunshine Boys in 1972, and the more serious, autobiographical Brighton Beach Memoirs in 1983 and Biloxi Blues in 1985.

He has also written screenplays and co-written musicals.

The musicals include Sweet Charity 1966, Promises, Promises 1968, and They're Playing Our Song 1978.
