Melissa Haro (full name Melissa Rose Haro) was born on January 1, 1988, in San Jose, California. She was brought up in her ancestral house. Melissa has been modeling from the age of 13. She graduated at the age of 16.

She entered a number of beauty contests after completing her graduation. In 2004, she won the Miss Bay Area Teen contest, as well as, the Miss California crown. In December 2004, Melissa Haro got the chance to enter the reality show "Project Runway" on Bravo Channel, hosted by Heidi Klum. Melissa ended as one of the top three contestants.

She has been represented by top modeling houses like Elite Model Management from New York and Look and Priscillas Model Management from San Francisco. Since the begi nning of her professional modeling career, Melissa Haro has appeared in a number of print ads for Guess Jeans, Jessica McClintok and Bebe. Apart from these, Melissa has appeared on famous magazines like Elle, Vanity Fair and Cosmopolitan.

She made headlines when she appeared in the February 2008 issue of Sports Illustrated magazine's Swimsuit edition, beside models like Quiana Grant.
