Biography and Career :
Marius Maldarasanu began his professional career playing for FC Petrolu Ploiesti, the local soccer team from his birth place.
He made his first appearance in the First Romanian Division (Divizia A) in 1996 when he was 21 years old in a match versus Universitatea Cluj Napoca. It was a bad day for his team who lost the match with 2:1, but this little failure wasn't going to stop Maldarusanu from becoming a great soccer player.
After 2 seasons spent at Petrolu Ploiesti, a team without important aspirations, Marius Maladarasanu manages to draw the attention of Mircea
Lucescu and he’s immediately transferred to Rapid Bucharest in 1998.
Even though the coach who brought him to Rapid was going to sign a contract with Inter Milan at the middle of the championship, the season 1998 -1999 was going to be the perfect season for Maladarasanu who played better and better and at the end Rapid Bucharest won the Championship.
In 2002- 2003 Rapid Bucharest conquers the Romanian Championship again, but Marius Maldarasanu has already proved his great skills and he doesn’t manage to celebrate another Champion Title with Rapid because he signs a contract with Besiktas Istambul at the middle of the season.
The Turkish soccer didn’t harmonize with Marius Maldarasanu's style of playing so after half of season spent at Besiktas, Maldarasanu turns back to Rapid Bucharest.
Even though he wasn't well prepared physically at his turning back, Maldarasanu managed to find the good shape with which he used to charm us all. In 2005 Marius Maldarasanu suffered a bad injury that kept him far from the field a long period of time.
