Malcolm Sargent Sir Harold Malcolm Watts Sargent (1895-1967), from 1923 he was professor at the Royal College of Music, was chief conductor of the BBC Symphony Orchestra 1950-1957, and continued as chief guest conductor and conductor-in-chief of the annual Henry Wood promenade concerts at the Royal Albert Hall, London. He had an easy, polished style.
