
Kenneth Cranham was born on December 12, 1944 in Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland, UK. He is a Scottish film, television and stage actor who has appeared in Layer Cake, Gangster No. 1, Rome, Oliver! and many other films.
Biography and Career :
He debuted on the big screen in 1968 in "Oliver!" in the role of Noah Claypole. After this he had his first big success in 1976 when he appeared near Audrey Hepburn in "Robin and Marian".
In 1981 he obtained a role in the popular miniseries Brideshead Revisited opposite Jeremy Irons. He is best known for the role of Dr. Philip Channard, aka the Channard Cenobite from "Hellbound: Hellraiser II".
Kenneth played in a lot of movies from dramas to comedy and had a lot of roles from bumbling detectives and passionate army dentists to good-hea
rted pastors and his performances were very appreciated.
He also had a passion for historical roles like Genghis Khan, Pompey, Hannibal or Leopold Mozart. In 2005 appeared in "The Rising: Ballad of Mangal Pandey", the true story of one man's mutiny against British rule in
India.
