John III Sobieski
John III Sobieski (1624-1696) was King of Poland from 1674.
Short Biography:
He became commander-in-chief of the army in 1668 after victories over the Cossacks and Tatars.
A victory over the Turks in 1673 helped to get him elected to the Polish throne, and he saved Vienna from the besieging Turks in 1683.
