Jack Dempsey ('the Manassa Mauler') (1895-1983) was an American heavyweight boxing champion.
Short Biography:
He beat Jess Willard in 1919 to win the title and held it until losing to Gene Tunney in 1926. He engaged in the "Battle of the Long Count" with Tunney 1927. Of his 79 fights, he won 64, and was defeated only six times.
