Ionel Danciulescu (full name Ionel Daniel Danciulescu) was born on December 6, 1976 in Slatina, Romania. He is a famous Romanian football player.
Biography and Career :
Ionel Danciulescu started to play football at a local team from his natal town CSS Slatina in 1992 and after a season there was transferred in the capital of his region, Oltenia at Electroputere Craiova.
He played there for 2 seasons in 31 games and scored 8 times. In 1995 Electroputere Craiova went in the second league and Danciulescu signed for Dinamo Bucharest.
Ionel Danciulescu played for Dinamo only 2 seasons but in 64 games and scored 22 times.
He left Dinamo in 1997 and went in Turkey At Altay Izmir but he stayed there only for a half of season and played 7 games with one goal.
In 1997 he wa
s transferred in Ghencea at Dinamo's great rival Steaua Bucharest where probably was one of the best period in his career. He played 5 seasons in 129 games and scored 53 times. In the seasons 1997-1998 and 2000-2001 they won the champion title.
After he scored a lot of goals against Dinamo he became Steaua's fans' idol.
In the second part of the season 2001-2002 Danciulescu had a conflict with Gigi Becali the boss from Steaua and with Victor Piturca Syeaua's coach and he had to leave.
He signed with Dinamo again but his first period was probably the hardest in his career.
Dinamo's fans hated him for his Steaua's past and many times thought that is better to quit. He even Played in the second league at Dinamo's satellite Poiana Campina.
After he scored in the next season in 26 games 16 times the fans accepted him and he became the topscorer of the team near Niculescu, the Romanian press called the "Couple N&D".
In 2005 he was borrowed for EUR 500.000,- to China's champion team Shenzhen Jianlibao which paid him 350.000 for 10 months.
He came back in Romania and became the idol of fans and topscorer of the team.
In European Cups played with Dinamo and Steaua in UEFA Champions League and in UEFA Cup. His best season was in 2003-2004 when in 5 games scored 6 times.
He played only in 6 games for the national team and his debut was on the 3rd of March 1999 against Estonia. His best match was a friendly one against Germany ended with Romania's victory, 5-1 when he scored his only 2 goals for Romania.
