Deana Carter, born in Nashville, Tennessee, United States, is the daughter of Fred Carter, Jr. Though her father was famous she was unable to get good deals. After her failure when she was 17 years old she joined the University of Tennessee. She specialized in Rehabilitation therapy. After her specialization in Rehabilitation therapy she became the member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority and a little sister at Sigma Alpha Epsilon. When she was in college she sang in many colleges. She didn't sing to make a singing career, but out of love for music, she always loved singing. After her graduation she worked with
stroke and head injury patients. Though she loved to serve people she realized that her first love was music and decided to make music her career.
She is a national representative for the National Kidney Foundation. She has also written a book "Songs from the Heart". She has her own band "Deana Carter's Band".
