Danut Coman (full name Danut Dumitru Coman) was born on the March 28, 1979 in Stefanesti, Arges, Romania. He is a famous Romanian goalkeeper.

Biography and Career:

He started playing football at 8 years old, at FC Arges Pitesti and played his first game in A Division (first Romanian league) on the 28th of February 1998 against Dinamo Bucharest but unfortunately for him he was defeated 2 times and his team lost with 2-0. In the first season for FC Arges 1997-1998 he played another 3 games.

In the next season he didn’t catch any opportunity to play and at the half of the season was transferred to AS Rocar Bucharest where played 10 games. He returned to FC Arges in 1999 but didn’t play too much in the next four seasons, only 17 games. Starting with the season 2003-2004 Danut Coman became the titular goalkeeper in FC Arges’s goal and played in most of the games: 22. The next season was the last for him at FC Arges Pitesti and at the half of season was transferred to Rapid Bucharest. Totally for FC Arges kept the goal in 69 games.

At the end of his first season for Rapid Bucharest they finished on the 3rd place in the championship and Coman played in almost all the games except one. In the next season 2005-2006 Danut Coman played in 22 games and in the end they finished on the 2nd place and won the vice-champion title and the Romanian Cup after they defeated in the final FC National Bucharest.

In the European Cups Danut Coman debuted with Rapid Bucharest in the season 2005-2006 in UEFA Cup. This was the best season for Rapid in Europe. They succeeded to qualify in UEFA Cup’s groups after they eliminated Feyernoord Rotterdam in a group with PAOK Salonic, Shakhtar Donetsk, Rennes and VfB Stuttgart. Rapid defeated PAOK, Shakhtar and Rennes and where defeated by VfB Stuttgart but they qualified in the next round where eliminated Hertha Berlin after 2 great games made by Coman. As well they eliminated another German team, Hamburg SV and they played the quarter final against Steaua Bucharest, their great Romanian rival. After 2 equal games they lost the qualification against Steaua.

He debuted on the 16th of November 2005 for Romanian national team in a friendly game against Nigeria and played another 5 games after this. After some mistakes made by Bogdan Lobont in the game against Bulgaria, the titular goalkeeper in Romania’s goal became Danut Coman.
