Anicius Manilus Severinus Boethius (480-524) was a Roman philosopher. Short Biography:
While imprisoned on suspicion of treason by Theodoric, he wrote treatises on music and mathematics and "De Consolatione Philosophiae / The Consolation of Philosophy", a dialogue in prose.
It was translated into European languages during the Middle Ages and into English by Alfred the Great, Geoffrey Chaucer, and Queen Elizabeth I.
Why is Boethius famous?
Boethius was a Roman philosopher of the early 6th century.
