Arthur Edson Blair Moody,known as Blair Moody, was a Democratic U.S. Senator from the state of Michigan.He was born February 13, 1902,New Haven, Connecticut. Blair did his public schooling from Providence, Rhode Island. He graduated from Brown University with a degree in economics in 1922.
Blair moved to Detroit, Michigan and was a reporter covering Washington, D.C., for the Detroit News from1923 to 1951. This was owned by his uncle, William Scripps.In 1944 Blair was a combat war correspondent, covering World War II in Italy, Africa, the United Kingdom, the Middle East, and Iran. He was a foreign correspondent from 1947 till 1948.
Blair was appointed on April 22, 1951, as a Democrat to the United States Senate and served from April 23, 1951, to November 4, 1952. He died on July 20, 195
4 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, while campaigning,of a heart attack following complications of viral pneumonia.
