Benjamin Becker was born on June 16, 1981 in Merzig, Germany. He is a professional tennis player.

Biography and Career :

Tarik Benhabiles and J-L Fontanot are his coaches and they come with him at all the tournaments. Starting his career when he was only a child made it easy for him to become a professional tennis player and in 2005 he did.

Even though he hasn't won any ATP title until now (2007) he has a long way ahead and a great future. He won more than 500,000 dollars from his tennis career until now. On March 5, 2007 he was placed on the thirty-eight position of Top 100 and this is the highest position he has ever achieved.

He has won the Salinas Challenger Tournament, two Canadian Futures Events, the Singles & Doubles Waco, TX Futures Event, the Laguna Niguel Futur es Event and the Toronto Doubles Futures Event until 2007.

His ATP performances include a semi-final at the San Jose Event, at the ATP Delray Beach Event and at the ATP Tokyo Event. In 2006 he had some good matches at Wimbledon where he reached the second round and at the US Open where he reached the fourth round. This is his best performance at a Grand Slam Tournament.

At the US Open he won against players like Filippo Volandri and Sebastien Grosjean. He participated at the 2007 Australian Open, but unfortunately he was eliminated into the first round. His main weapon is his serve. He can serve with a speed of 140 miles per hour. With such a start of his career and talent he could go very far.
