Burrhus Frederic Skinner (1903-1990) was an American psychologist, a radical behaviourist who rejects mental concepts, seeing the organism as a "black box" where internal processes are not important in predicting behaviour.

His radical approach rejected almost all previous psychology; his text Science and Human Behaviour in 1953 contains no references and no bibliography.
