August Macke

August Macke August Macke (1887-1914) with Franz Marc he developed a semi-abstract style comprising Cuhist and Fauve characteristics.

Short Biography:

In 1914 Macke visited Tunis with fcKlee, and was inspired to paint a series of brightly coloured watercolours largely composed of geometrical shapes but still representational. He was killed in World War I.

August Macke was a German painter, a founder member of the Blaue Reittr group in Munich.
