She learnt dancing and gymnastics for four and a half years and discontinued her classes because she wanted to pursue her career in acting. She is going to the Denver area high school and she also plans to go to college after completing her high school. She is a Christian.
She starred in a commercial for McDonalds. After doing the commercial she started her acting career in 2004. She first played a small role in the episode of Drake & Josh television series. Her first
role in the main role was in the series Samantha: An American Girl Holiday.
She has acted as Opal in Because of Winn-Dixieand and as Violet Beauregarde in Tim Burton's remake of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was a super hit worldwide because of which AnnaSophia became famous among teenagers.
She was the face of Trad Clothing in 2004. She did a guest role on the cartoon show Danny Phantom as the voice of Danielle "Dani" Fenton in 2006. She played the role of Leslie Burke in Bridge to Terabithia which was released in the U.S. theatres on 16th February 2007. She also recorded a song for the soundtrack "Keep Your Mind Wide Open". She has acted in "The Reaping" with Spy School, Jumper and Have Dreams, Will Travel. She also appeared in the movie "Sleepwalking" for which she got positive reviews.
