Zachary Taylor was born on Wednesday, November 24, 1784 in Barboursville, Virginia, USA. He was the 12th President of the United States and an American Military leader.
Biography and Career:
He was an infant when he was brought to Kentucky and raised on a plantation. He began his career as an officer in the Army and mostly took interest in the talks of Cotton rising. His military career is based on 40 years in U.S Army. He was known as old rough and ready.
Zachary Taylor fought a lot of battles for his country including the war of 1812, Black Hawk war and Second Seminole War. He got the peak of fame after leading U.S troops very successfully and victoriously in Amer-Max War.
He was the great opponent of spread of slavery to localities and territories. Basically he was no
t too much interested in politics but the Whig Party convinced him to take part in politics. They chose him as a popular candidate in the election of 1848.
Zachary Taylor got victory in the election and defeated Lewis Cass. He was the 1st ever president of U.S who never held any previous elected office. He won also the last one president from south. If we talk about his presidency and policies, he emphasized to urge settler in new Max and California to buy pass the stage of Territorial. He was the one who set the stage for 1850 compromises and made constitutions for establishment of state.
In February 1850 he held an important and unique meeting with south leaders and told them that for the implementation of law he will lead the Army. He died because of fatal gastroenteritis. It was a rumor that he was given poison. He died on July 9 in 1850.
