Yaroslava Shvedova (full name Yaroslava Vyacheslavovna Shvedova) was born on the 12th of September 1987 in Moscow, Russia and she is a tennis player.
Biography and career :
When she was six years old her father started teaching her how to play tennis. In 2005 she turned a professional player.
Until now she has won one WTA single tournaments, two ITF single tournaments and two ITF doubles tournaments.
In February 2007 she played at the Sony Ericsson International, Bangalore in India on hard and her opponent in the final was Mara Santangelo. She managed to win the match and this way her first WTA single title. Before the final she defeated Sania Mirza who was the Number Two seed.
After this title she entered Top 100.
On the 2nd of April 2007 she was ranked on the seventy-fir
st position. This is the highest career she has reached until now.
In 2006 she played into the first round at Wimbledon, but didn’t pass into the next round and was eliminated.
She is a tall and strong player and above all she is still very young. She has the whole career ahead and she can win many titles if she trains hard and is a serious person.
In 2007 her win-loss record is 15-6 until now.
She has a two-handed backhand and specialists see her as a talented and with a great potential tennis player.
