Xavier Malisse was born on the 19th of July 1980 in Kortrijk, Belgium. Now he resides in Florida, United States and is a professional tennis player.
Biography and Career :
After turning a professional tennis player in 1998 he started winning his first tournaments and titles.
Until now he has won three ATP single titles, one single Challenger and four doubles tournaments.
In September 2000 it was conquered the Challenger at the tournament in San Antonio on hard. His opponent in the final was Ronald Agenor and the match ended with the score 7-6 6-3.
After five years, in January, he managed to win his first WTA single title. It was happening at the tournament in Delray Beach against Jiri Novak.
In 2007 another two titles came, one at Chennai and the other at Delray Beach, fac
ing in the finals Stefan Koubek and James Blake.
The all four tournaments were played on hard.
Olivier Rochus was his partner at the French Open in 2004 and at Adelaide in 2005 when they win the trophies.
Along Dick Norman he won the tournament in Chennai in 2007 and also in 2007, but along Hugo Armando he won the title at Delray Beach.
As a single player he played another eight final, but unfortunately lost them all.
It is about the finals of the tournaments in Mexico City, Delray Beach, Atlanta, St. Poelten, Lyon and Adelaide.
He played the semi-final at Wimbledon in 2002 and this may be his greatest achievement at a Grand Slam tournament.
The fourth round was reached at the US Open in 2003 and 2005 and at Roland Garros in 2002 and 2004.
In 2003 he played into the third round at the Australian Open but was then eliminated.
