William McKinley The 25th President of the United States, William McKinley was born in Niles, Ohio, USA on Sunday, January 29, 1843. He also worked as the 39th Governor of Ohio from January 11, 1892 to January 13, 1896.

Biography and Career:

McKinley was a national Republican leader; his signature issue was high tariffs on imports as a formula for prosperity. As the Republican candidate in the 1896 presidential election, he upheld the gold standard, and promoted pluralism among ethnic groups. His campaign, designed by Mark Hanna, introduced new advertising style campaign techniques that results in revolutionized campaign practices and beat back the crusading of his arch rival, William Jennings Bryan. The 1896 election is often considered a realigning election that marked the beginning of the P rogressive Era.

William McKinley also served in United States army. He was ranked Captain (brevet major). His unit is 23rd Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment and he also fought the American Civil War with good reputation.

His presidency period starts from 1897 to 1901 and he was the last President of United States in eighteen century and also the first President in nineteen century. In his presidency period he also focused on domestic polices to enhance the livings of the people. He defended his claim of Advance agent for prosperity in the year 1897 and brought reforms in business, agriculture and general prosperity.

He also emphasized in foreign polices to meat the challenges of the day. McKinley was stick to make American producers supreme in the world markets because he believed that economically strong America is need of the nation. He introduced new administration to pus for those foreign markets, which included the annexation of Hawaii and interests in China. While serving as a Congressman, McKinley had been an advocate for the annexation of Hawaii because he wanted to Americanize it and establish a naval base.

In 1900 he also campaigned for his 2nd term President ship and was succeeded but his 2nd term came to a tragic end in September 1901 when he was standing in receiving line at buffalo Pan-American Exposition when a deranged anarchist shots him twice and he was wounded and died eight days after assassinations attempt.
