William Henry Harrison

William Henry Harrison William Henry Harrison was born on Tuesday, February 09, 1773 in Charles City County, Colony of Virginia, USA and belonged to Harrison Political family. He was the ninth President of the United States.

Biography and Career:

His father was a planter as well as delegate to congress. At the age of 14 years he got admission in Presbyterian Hampden Sydney College and learned Latin. Then he moved to Richmond as took interest in medicine study. When he was eighteen years old his father died and he was left to the guardianship of Morris.

He was the 9th President of U.S and served in U.S Military as an officer and was a well known politician. Strangely he was the 1st President who died in office on his 32nd day. So he was the President of shortest duration. After his death a little bit constitutional crisis created but 25 Amendment resolved many problems.

Harrison before Presidency offered his services as the 1st territorial congressional delegate and government of Indiana. Moreover he was also appointed as U.S Representative and senator from Ohio. The main reason behind his popularity was that he led the U.S military against American Indians and earned his nickname Tippecanoe in 1811.

The other major reason which gave him fame was the victory of Battle of Thames in 1812.

This was all about his war and military life. When wars came to an end he returned to Ohio and was chosen to U.S congress and appointed as Minister Plenipotentiary to Columbia. Before returning to his form in Ohio, he was nominated for Presidency in 1836. But was unable to get victory and was elected as president in 1840 as Whig candidate. On 36 march he became victim of cold and Pathogens and died after nine days on 1841.
