Warren Gamaliel Harding (full name Warren Gamaliel Harding), the 29th President of United States was born on Thursday, November 02, 1865 near Blooming Grove, Ohio.
Biography and Career:
He served United States as president from 1921 to his death from heart attack or stroke in 1923. He also served as United States Senator from Ohio from March 4, 1915 to January 13, 1921. From January 11, 1904 to January 8, 1906, he served as 28th Lieutenant Governor of Ohio. He also remained Ohio State Senator from 1899 to 1903.
The political career of Warren Harding starts when he was elected to Ohio State Senate in 1899. He served four years before being elected Lieutenant Governor of Ohio and he worked at this post from 1903 to 1905. In 1910 he got the nomination for Governor of Ohio from
Republicans but lost to incumbent Judson Harmon. In 1914 he was elected to the United States Senate, becoming Ohio's first senator elected by popular vote. In 1921 he was elected as President and that was destiny for him.
Before his nomination as President he defined his plan in the following words from him "America's present need is not heroics, but healing; not nostrums, but normalcy; not revolution, but restoration; not agitation, but adjustment; not surgery, but serenity; not the dramatic, but the dispassionate; not experiment, but equipoise; not submergence in internationality, but sustainment in triumphant nationality...." and after he was President he done well with his words.
The achievements he got during his presidency are peace treaties signed between Germany, Austria and Hungary to end World War I, he established the Veterans' Bureau that is know as Department of Veterans Affairs, a Treaty to indemnify Colombia for its loss of Panama, Budget and Accounting Act of 1921, Revenue Act of 1921, Fordney-McCumber Tariff 1922 and Pardon of war protester Eugene Debs and other political prisoners.
