Vera Dushevina was born on October 6, 1986 in Moscow, Russia. She is a young tennis player.

Biography and Career :

She started playing tennis when she was a child and in 2003 she became a professional tennis player. Even if she was born in Moscow she now resides in Khimki, Russia. Until now (2007) she managed to win one ITF single title, one WTA doubles title and four ITF doubles titles.

In 2005 she was very close to win her first WTA single tournament. At Eastbourne she participated that year and was one of the finalists. The other was Kim Clijsters from Belgium, who won the title.

As a junior player, in 2002, she won the Wimbledon. She had a hard game in the finals where faced Maria Sharapova, but in the end she was the winner and this meant a lot for her and her futur e career.

She started registering performances at the Grand Slam tournaments in 2004 when she played the third round at the US Open and second round at the French Open. In 2006 and 2007 she also reached the second round at the Roland Garros.

At the Australian Open in 2005 she played in the fourth round and unfortunately stopped there. In 2007 at Wimbledon she played the first round against Timea Bacsinszky, but in the second round played against Justine Henin, who is World's Number One, and unfortunately Vera lost.

She is talented and still very young. Her career is just at the beginning and has a lot to learn, but she has chances to be a winner.
