He sturied at Martin Rohe and Alma Catherine Westmeier. He bagan dancing at age of 9 and when she was 16 she won the competition Major Bowes Amateur Hous. After that she began a professional dancer with a big upcoming career.
He made her Broadway debut at 18 in 1939 in the musical Very Warm for May directed by Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein.
He was one of the most youngest performer from Radio City Music Hall. After that she got two big lead roles in "Panama Hattie, By Jupiter" and "A Connecticut Yankee". After that she worked with Danny Kaye and Virginia Mayo on her first movie "Wonder Man" in 1945.
After that she got many ro
les as a dancer in movies such as "Words and Music" in 1948 with Genne Kelly, "On the Town" in 1949 and Marx Brothers' movie "Love Happy" in 1949.
He also had some tv roles in the series "Three Little Words" and "The Belle of New York". After that she had another big movie in 1954 in "White Christmas" and a big role in Donald O'Connor's movie "Call me Madam". After that he made a 5 year break from movies and got a role in Let's Be Happy". After that movie she retired from dancing because she was suffering from anorexia.
