Vasilica Cristocea was born on July 27, 1980 in Harsova, Romania. He is one of Steaua Bucharest's players.

Biography and Career :

He started his career as a football player at a local team in his birth town, Carsium Harsova, in 1998.

He was transferred in the season 1999-2000 to Farul Constanta and debuted in A Division (first Romanian League) on July 25, 1999 in a game against Dinamo Bucharest, which was lost by his team with 2-0.

In the first season for Farul Constanta he played in 16 games and didn't score. The team finished the season on the 14 th place and was relegated in B Division (second Romanian League).

In the season 2000-2001 he played in 26 games and the team succeeded to come back in A Division.

The next five seasons between 2001-2006 were good for Vasilica Cristocea because he played in almost all games and succeeded to score many times. He played in 114 games and scored 26 goals.

He was soon remarked by Steaua Bucharest's officials and didn't finish the season 2005-2006 at Farul Constanta. He was transferred and succeeded to win the champion title with his team.

Steaua Bucharest's coach used him in 14 games and he succeeded to score twice.

In the European Cups he debuted in the season 2005-2006 with Steaua Bucharest. After they lost the chance to play in UEFA Champions League groups because they were eliminated by Rosenborg, they played in UEFA Cup and had fantastic results. They defeated teams like Lens, Heerenven, Betis Sevilla and their traditional Romanian rival Rapid Bucharest in the quarter finals but, unfortunately for them, they were eliminated in the semi-final by Middlebrough. Vasilica Cristocea played in 4 games and scored once.

In the next season they succeeded, after 10 years to play again in UEFA Champions League Groups after they eliminated Standard Liege. They played in a group with Real Madrid, Olympique Lyon and Dynamo Kiev.
