Vanessa Anne Hudgens was born on December 18, 1988, in Salinas, California. She is most noted for her lead female role in the trilogy High School Musical. She has also released two albums – V (2006) and the other in 2008.
Biography and Career:
She was shifted to San Diego with her younger sister, Stella, in her childhood. Since then, she developed a strong interest in music, conceivably inspired from her grandparents who were part of the musical scenario of the 30s.
From the age of 8, she began participating in the musicals of her locality like The King and I, Cinderella and Evita. After a while, she went to London, with her parents, to pursue music and drama. After brushing up her talents in performance and singing in the UK, she returned to the States and settled in Los
Angeles. With the huge support from her family, the rising star had started giving tireless auditions for making her place in Hollywood. Her first breakthrough came with a couple of television shows: Still Standing, and Robbery Homicide Division.
The next year, Vanessa played a role in the drama Thirteen, with rising stars like Evan Rachel Wood and Nikki Reed. After that, she acted in Thunderbirds (2004) with
Ben Kingsley and, thereafter, in TV shows like The Brothers Garcia and Quintuplets.
Vanessa Anne Hudgens soon came into the limelight with her role as Gabriella Montez in the superhit movie High School Musical (2006). In that movie she starred opposite
Zac Efron and with Ashley Tisdale. Her onscreen chemistry with Zac won her the Teen Choice Award for Choice Chemistry. Later on, Vanessa and Zac became a couple and Zac has been quoted saying her to “outshine” other girls.
With the success of High School Musical, Vanessa determined to follow her passion in music. The result of this and two months of rigorous work was the album V (2006) under the label of Hollywood Records. It was an instant hit and scaled the 24th spot on US pop album charts. Apart from these, she had appeared on Disney’s The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.
