
Valerie Mikita was born in Mahanoy City, PA. At the age of 4, her family moved to the Windy City, better known as "Chi-Town." This is where Valerie fell in love with Musical Theater, and more importantly…found her OWN voice. She immediately threw herself into every play, choir & musical performance she could find…landing lead roles even at her tender age.
During her Senior Year in High School, Valerie was recruited by a professional touring theater company & began touring the U.S. showing off those powerful vocal chords, doing 2 shows a day, 5 days, a week as a lead character, of course.
Upon completion of the 2 year tour, Valerie ignited a newfound talent… singing The Star Spangled Banner at sporting events around Illinois, like "Friday Night
Fights," on ESPN & dozens of "Chicago Bulls" games, which earned her the nickname, "The National Anthem Girl."
In 1994, Valerie became one of the hosts for a local Chicago children's show, called, "The Crew On The U." At the end of the show's 2 year run... she started to land lead roles in a hand full of independent films.
In 1998's, at the height of the Chicago Bulls popularity, she snagged the coveted position of featured lounge singer at Dennis Rodman's infamous nightclub, "Illusions," in downtown Chicago. To expand her versatility and range, she also sang with a cover band during that time... everything from Pop & Rock to Dance & Oldies...and kicking it off with her "Fabulous Baker Boys " routine.
While working in a recording studio, doing voiceovers & jingles for Radio & TV commercials, Valerie caught the attention of a top Chicago producer who took her under his wing and created a sultry Pop/R&B album, which took her on a tour across the US, Canada & London...opening for such acts as Ray Jay, Jagged Edge & Juvenile… He called her the "White Janet Jackson."
"JAMINRAIN" was a company that Valerie & her Producer tried to start back in 2000…but obviously…Valerie was destined for bigger and better things…
Valerie then ventured into modeling & acting, to expand her role in entertainment field. She started acting in local & national commercials, which led to hosting a local children's show in 1995 for 2 years, which then led to her next unexpected big break into National TV…the internationally acclaimed, "The Jenny Jones show."
Valerie became infamously known as the sexy, international, segment host/comedian/correspondent for The Jenny Jones Show. For a period of 5 years, (with over 250 shows), she traveled the country, interviewing every different kind of person under the sun…from celebrities to everyday folks who watched the show religiously. But with her quick wit, infectious personality, and indomitable determination to continue her love of singing…Valerie parlayed her hosting gig into a SINGING GIG.
From 2001 to 2003, she could be seen as a recurring musical act on The Jenny Jones Show!
With the love of entertainment in her blood, Valerie moved to LA in 2003, to test her abilities as an actress, and immediately landed the lead in the Independent comedy, "Guy in Row Five", with Thomas Ian Nicholas (American Pie).
She also snagged a recurring role on "Overhaulin," for TLC, a pilot for the FX Network, & another short film called, "The Eye of Dan."
Most recently, Valerie starred opposite Eric Roberts & Steven Williams in the dramatic thriller, "Graves End," and played a Co-Starring role on 1 Prime Time Show in America, "CSI."
Valerie continues to host commercials, infomercials and act in independent films.
Because of her passion for music, Valerie continues to write and record songs that come straight from her heart…With moving lyrics and deep undeniable emotion, her words continue to touch people in a way that only SHE can.
