Valerie Bertinelli was born in Wilmington , Delaware on April 23 1960. She is famous as an American actress.
Valerie Bertinelli belongs to an Italian American family. Her older brother Mark died at 17 months from an accidental poisoning before the birth of Valeri. Her family lived in Claymont, Delaware and Clarkston , Michigan with Valerie and her other three brothers, one older and two younger. After that they moved to Oklahoma City where Valerie studied acting at the Tami Lynn School of Artists. When she was pursuing the last few credits needed for her high school diploma she was raised Catholic.
When she was working in an episode of Apple's way she was called by producer Norman
Lear to audition for the role of cooperative daughter Barbara Cooper in a new sitcom called One Day at a Time. She show debuted in late 1975. During the first season of the show Bertinelli was 15 and her character was written as a tomboy. After that in the shows first full session Bertinelli's character was changed to be more appealing to a traditional male demographic. Bertinelli appeared in all episodes but two episodes remaining on the show until it was canceled in 1984.
After One Day at a Time Bertinelli continued to act. She worked for several TV movies and mini series. In 2008 she wrote a autobiography Losing it and Gaining My Life Back one Pound at a Time, which culminates in a description of her Jenny Craig experience.
