Biography and Career :
He started playing football when he was very young but his first professional contract was signed in 2001 with an B Division(Romanian Second Division) team called Jiul Petrosani.
Before this he played for the juniors of Rulmentul Alexandria, a local team in his birth town.
When he was 17 years old he was in probes at Steaua Bucharest but the coach in that time, Victor Piturca said about him that is not enough valuable for Steaua.
He played for Jiul one season in 22 games and scored 5 times and in the beginning of the season 2003-2004, after Jiul fell in the third league he signed a contract
with FC Vaslui, a new founded but valuable team.
After they lost the chance to play in the first league in that season , in the next one they succeeded to end on the first place and became one of A Division.
He debuted in A Division on August 6, 2005 against Rapid Bucharest but his team lost with 1-0. In the next game, against Gloria Bistrita he succeeded his first goal in the first league.
Although the boss from FC Vaslui, Adrian Porumboiu bought a lot of valuable players like Sabin Ilie, Claudiu Raducan and Mihalcea the team had a disastrous play and made a negative record: the worst half of season in the history of Romanian championship: six points only in 15 games, all after 6 equal games.
In the second half Mircea Rednic, FC Vaslui's coach used young players and succeeded to save the team from falling in B Division. One of those good players or probably the best of them was Vali Badea. He played for Vaslui in 81 games and scored 28 times. He succeeded to score against all top teams in Romanian championship: Steaua, Dinamo, Rapid and FC National and came in the views of these teams.
In 2006 Steaua paid for him and Bogdan Panait 1.500.000 euro and obtained their transfers.
His first game for Steaua brought him his first trophy, the Romanian Super Cup which was won against Rapid after they defeated them with 1-0.
His first goal for Steaua was against his ex-team FC Vaslui, but his real skills appeared in the game against Standard Liege for the qualification in UEFA Champions League when he scored 2 very important goals and assured the qualification in a group with Real Madrid, Olympique Lyon and Dynamo Kiev.
He also scored at Kiev against Dynamo and his team won with 4-1.
He hasn't debuted for national team yet but in the future probably he will be one of the basic strikers for it.
