Ulysses S. Grant Ulysses Simpson Grant (birth name Hiram Ulysses Grant) was born on Saturday, April 27, 1822 in Point Pleasant, Ohio, USA and he was the 18th President of the United States.

Biography and Career:

Ulysses Simpson Grant was admitted in the U.S Military academy at the age of 17 years. After graduation he served as lieutenant in the war of American Max war under the supervision of Winfield Scott and Zachary Taylor. When Amer-Max war came to end in 1848, he resigned from Army in 1854.

He decided to take part in Northern effort in civil war. He was a devoted state service man, a county engineer and a patriotic personality.

Grant served as 18th President of USA and also worked as General in Chief of Union Army during Amer civil War in 1869.

In September 1862 he was made Briga dier General of volunteers by Abraham Lincoln. In 1862 he attacked Fort Donelson and also got the Fort of Henry. In response to confederate commander, he said only surrendered persons will be for given and I don't know about any terms and conditions.

In April in Shiloh, he fought one of the horrible and terrible fights of his life and got very serious injuries. People demanded his replacement but Abraham Lincoln said, I can not spare this man. He fought. In his victorious territories, Vicksburg is the famous one and most important city of Mississippi.

In 1864 he was given the rank of General -in-Chief. Throughout his military career he remained very hones, patriotic and successful. He shed his blood for the sake of his country.

In 1868 he was elected as president of U.S. As a president, he governed the Machinery like Army and brought Army staff in white house. He was re-elected as a President in 1872. He was attacked by Narrow headed man of Liberal Republican reforms.

He based a very strong and powerful Republican party. He welcomed good relations with North and former confederators.

In 1884 Grant came to know that he became the victim of throat cancer. He died at the age of 63.
