Biography and Career
Trey Songz was born as Tremaine Aldon Neverson on November 28, 1984, in Petersburg, Virginia. With encouragement of his friends and family he started singing. Troy Taylor a record producer discovered Trey Songz during a talent show, which led him to a record contract with Atlantic Records. After getting done with his graduation from high school, Songz moved to New Jersey to begin his music career.
Finally in July 2005 Trey's debut album, I Gotta Make It, was released by Atlantic Records. It debuted at number 20 on the Billboard 200, domestically selling over 40,000 copies in its first week of sales.
In October 2007, his second studio album, Trey Day was
released. The album debuted at number 11 on the Billboard 200, selling more units than his previous album, I Gotta Make It. In 2008, Trey Songz was nominated for a BET Award for Best Male R&B Artist. Later in 2009, "Can't Help but Wait" by Songz made him a nominated for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance at the 2009 Grammy Awards ceremony.
His third album, Ready, was released in September 2009. The album debuted at number three on the Billboard 200, selling 131,000 copies in its first week. Genesis his second mixtape released in 2009 that was a collection of Trey Songz first recordings when he was fifteen years old and was released to show his fans the dedication that he had to making a record when he was young. Ready is preceded by the first single, "I Need a Girl". The album debuted at number three on the Billboard 200, selling 131,000 copies in its first week.
As an actor he also played role in couple of film includes Queen of Media and Lincoln Heights in the year 2009.
