Tony Ward is born at Los Angeles in California. His father is Robert Borden Ward, and his mother is Karen Elizabeth Castro. He is brought up in the area of Santa Cruz.
From his teens, Ward was interested about modeling and when he was just 20 years old he started his career as a model. He started modeling in the year 1983 and got recognition after his modeling for Calvin Klein underwear. This has made him internationally famous and he started getting offer of various modeling assignments.
The modeling shoot was taken by Herb Ritts. He worked with famous photographers like Terry Richardson , Steven Klei
n, Steven Klein and Calvin Klein. He worked for fashion designers like Dolce & Gabbana, Hugo Boss, H & M, Roberto Cavalli, Diesel and Chanel. He has signed modeling contracts with Nous Model Management, the Milan based modeling agency Why Not Model Agency, Public Image Worldwide, the modeling agency in New York, the London based Premier Model Management, Copenhagen based Unique Models and for some famous modeling agency in Germany.
He has acted in some films too. The first movie that was recognized by audience is Bruce LaBruce directed film Hustler White. His own fashion brand is named SixInTheFace.
Ward had dated Madonna in the 1990s. He appeared in some of Madonna"s music videos too. He worked in Madonna’s music videos like "Justify My Love" and "Cherish".
