Tommy Robredo (full name Tommy Robredo Garcas) was born on May 1, 1982 in Hostalric, Spain. He is a professional tennis player.
Biography and Career :
His favorite activities are playing golf, riding his quad bike and going down to the sea. He speaks fluently Spanish, English and French. He started playing tennis at the age of five because the family moved to Olot and his father was the director of the local tennis club. Until 1996 his father was also his coach, but that year he moved to the High Performance Center in Sant Cugat del Valles.
While being a junior he won the Junior Orange Bowl 16-under in 1998 and after two years was the finalist of Roland Garros, but lost. Since 2001 he started participating at the Grand Slams and his first appearance was at the US Open where
reached the fourth round. He had the same performances again in 2004, 2005 and 2006. In 2003 he played at Wimbledon into the third round. At the French Open he played three quarter-finals until now, in 2003, 2005 and 2007. He also played a quarter-final at Australian Open in 2007, but lost the game against Roger Federer. In 2006 he won the tournament at Hamburg against his opponent in the final, Radek Stepanek. Another tournament won in 2006 was at Bastad, where he defeated Nikolay Davydenko.
He is a great player and has proved it during his career. It won't be easy for him if he will try becoming World's Number One, but he is training hard and with some luck maybe he will be successful.
