Tom Roberts Thomas William Roberts (1856-1931) was founder of the Heidelberg School, which introduced Impressionism to Australia.

Short Biography:

Roberts arrived in Australia in 1869, returning to Europe to study (1881-1885).

He received official commissions, including one to paint the opening of the first Australian federal parliament, but is better known for his scenes of pioneering life.
