Biography and Career
Todd Stitzer was born in the United States, on 10th of March, 1952. He is the son of a YMCA director and a nurse. He is also a naturalised British citizen. He got his early education from Ridgewood High School, New Jersey, and then later for his higher education he joined Springfield College, Massachusetts. From Harvard he studied law.
After completing his education he joined New York law firm. In 1973 he got associated with Lord Day & Lord as an associate attorney. Later in 1983 he joined Cadbury North America as an Assistant General Counsel, and later on he became the marketing chief for US beverages.
He moved to London in 1991 as Group Development Director and t
hen back to the United States in 1993 as the Vice President of Marketing and Strategic Planning and then Chief Operating Officer for Cadbury Beverages, North America.
He was a President and Chief Executive Officer of Dr Pepper/Seven Up from 1997 to 2000 and Chief Strategy Officer from 2000 to 2003.
He joined the board of Cadbury in 2000 and in 2003 and was appointed Chief Executive Officer. On 3 February 2010 Todd Stitzer along with Cadbury Chairman Roger Carr announced their resignation following the purchase of Cadburys by Kraft Foods the day before. Stitzer had worked for Cadbury plc for 27 years and he was succeeded by Kraft CEO Irene Rosenfeld.
Besides his professional life Todd Stitzer is a regular churchgoer and enjoys tennis, skiing and sailing. His favourite book is philosopher Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged. He has two children, a boy and a girl, and homes in Connecticut and Surrey.
