Her father is from Germany and her mother is from Japan and she has an actress sister Adelle Lutz.
In 1972 she married Michael Chow the president of a large chain of restaurants. They had 2 children a daugther China and a son Maximilian.
She began her modeling career in New York along with many celebrities like Andy Warhol, Keith Haring and Jean-Michel.
Antonio Lopez said that Tina Chow is her insparation for his pictures and she let him to draw her. During her career she had an affair with the bisexual frashion designer Richard Gere and she was contracted with HIV, becoming one of the first women infected by this disease. She died at age of 41 spending her last days in her home alone.
