The Black Eyed Peas are a hip hop band who came together in Los Angeles, California in the year 1995 in the USA. They are made up of a group vocalist and multi-instrumentalist called will.i.am, and vocalists apl.de.ap, Taboo, and Fergie.
Career:
After the release of their 3rd record Elephunk in the year 2003, they have generated sales of an estimated 27 million albums across the globe including 20 million songs as singles and 47 million copies with both sales taken together. They came out with their ultimate global hit with "Where Is the Love?" in the year 2003, which rocked over ten charts worldwide. Another single was the European hit "Shut Up" in their next album. Another album Monkey Business was another worldwide hit, and was given the certification of 4x Platinum in the
USA. It gave two hit singles, "My Humps" and "Don't Phunk with My Heart" that skyrocketed the band to fame.
In 2009, They became one among 11 artists to have ever continuously held the #1 and #2 positions on the Billboard Hot 100, with their numbers from the album titled The E.N.D. - "I Gotta Feeling" and "Boom Boom Pow". Taken together, they also came first the listings for 26 continuous weeks in 2009. The album later came up with a third Hot 100 top position with "Imma Be", giving them the status of having three number one singles on the listings from the same album. It also included the singles "Meet Me Halfway" and "Rock That Body".
Their song "I Gotta Feeling" has become the first song to generate more than 1 million downloads in the UK.
On June 6, 2010, they released news that they were coming out with their new album in an interview for The Big Issue. The album is supposed to be a sequel to The E.N.D. Will.i.am announced that the new album "symbolizes growth, new beginnings and starts a fresh new perspective," and that it will be titled The Beginning. The album releasing on November 30, 2010 received mixed reviews causing poor sales. The album's first song is called "The Time (Dirty Bit)",was revealed on October 20, 2010 through Will.i.am's Twitter account.
