Terry Moore was born in Glendale, California and was brought up in a Mormon family in Los Angeles, California. When in Los Angeles she worked as child model. Her debut movie as a child artist was "Maryland" in 1940. She was known as Judy Ford, Jan Ford and January Ford before she could decide her name as Terry Moore in 1948.
During the 1940's she has worked with the radio for a show "The Smiths of Hollywood" as Bumps Smith. She is mostly remembered as Bumps Smith because of the show. She has given several box office hits including Joe Young (1949), Come Back, Little Sheba (1952) - for which she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actre
ss and Peyton Place (1957).
In1962 she acted in NBC Western drama "Empire". In this drama she played the role of Rancher's daughter. The other cast of this drama are Richard Egan and Ryan O'Neal.
