Taye Diggs (real name Scott L. Diggs) was born on January 2, 1971 in New Jersey, United States of America. He is an American film and television actor. Taye Diggs is famous for the roles in "Equilibrium", "Rent" and for the TV series "Ally McBeal".
Biography and Career :
Rochester, New York is the place where he spent his childhood with his parents and his other four sibling. He studied at The School of The Arts and later at Syracuse University. He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in musical theater.
His performances before taking his road to Brodway include Lakes Region Summer Theatre in Meredith, New Hampshire where he participated many times. His first role after getting on Brodway was in "Carousel", a very popular musical.
His first huge success was with a role in "Rent", a Tony Award- and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical and after he also appeared in "Chicago". Diggs also made his debut in television with a role in a soap-opera called "Guiding Light".
