Tatiana Poutchek was born on January 9, 1979 in Minsk, Belarus. She is a professional tennis player.

Biography and Career :

When she was seven years old she began playing tennis and at the age of nineteen, in 1998, she turned a professional player. Until now (2007) she has won three ITF single titles, three WTA doubles titles and eighteen ITF doubles titles. Her parents’ names are Nicolai and Nadedja and besides Tatiana they have another daughter, Olga.

She says that when her tennis career is over she wants to become a pilot. Planes and everything regarding flying interests her. Her coach is Marat Zverev, who has a daughter that is also a WTA professional player, Natasha Zvereva.

On July 22, 2002 she was placed on the 55th position in Top 100. This is the highest positio n for her in this top. In 2002 at the tournament in Tashkent she was one of the finalists, but unfortunately she lost the final to Marie-Gayanay Mikaelian, from Switzerland, after a match that ended with the score 6-4, 6-4.

In 2001 and 2002 she played into the first round at the Australian Open and in 2003 she managed to reach the third round. At the French open she played into the first round in 2002 and 2003 and into the second in 2001 and 2007.

2001, 2003 and 2005 were the years when she played into the first round at Wimbledon and in 2002 and 2007 she reached the second. At the US open she qualified into the first round in 1999, 2002, 2003 and 2006, but every time stopped there and into the second round in 2001.
