Tatiana Golovin was born on January 25, 1988 in Moscow, Russia. She is a young tennis player who has dreams and hops to become World's Number 1.
Biography and Career :
She debuted at Cagnes-Sur-Mer in France in 2002, but even if she participated to another three events that year she wasn't qualified at the French Open. Next year she participated at Miami, Strasbourg and Roland Garros, but lost in the first round at all of them.
Until now, 2004 is considered her breakthrough season. She participated at Birmingham and managed to play the final against Maria Sharapova, but lost. She was defeated in the fourth round at Australian Open in 2004. This is the same year when she won the mixed doubles final at Roland Garros along Richard Gasquet. At Wimbledon she lost also in the fou
rth round.
In 2005 she played the final at Tokyo, but abandoned it to Nicole Vaidisova due to a left achilles tendonitis. One year later she played the quarter-finals at Gold Coast, but lost to Flavia Pennetta after a hard fight. She had a great tournament at US Open where lost in the semi-finals to Maria Sharapova after a hard 6-7, 6-7.
At Stuttgart she played the final in 2006, but unfortunately was defeated. The tournament she won was at Amelia Island in 2007, a great reason for joy. She wants to train hard and make sure she will be a champion. Another tournament with good results was at Antwerp where played in the semi-finals, but stopped there.
