Tamira Paszek was born on the 6th of December 1990 in Dornbirn, Austria and she is a tennis player with a two years long career.
Biography and Career :
When she was four years old she started playing tennis after her mother took her to a tennis court.
She has Chilean and Indian origins and her coach is Larri Passos, the same coach that famous Gustavo Kuerten had.
As a junior single player she won the Wimbledon and US Open, the first one in 2005 and the second in 2006.
In 2005 she became a professional tennis player and since then has won 1 WTA single title, 1 ITF single title and 1 ITF doubles title.
The first single tournament was won in September 2005 at Sofia and she defeated Kristina Barrois. At the same tournament she also won the doubles title and her partner was San
ja Ani¨ii¦, Mario Ani¨ii¦'s sister. They beat the team of Joana Cortez and Karolina Kosinska with the score 6-7(9), 6-2, 6-4.
After one year in September 2006, she won the tournament at Portorož and this was her first WTA title and the only one until now. Her opponent in the final was Maria Elena Camerin and the score was 7-5, 6-1.
In 2007 she played at Australian Open and French Open where reached the second round each time. Famous players like Vera Zvonareva and Justine Henin stopped her to go on in the next rounds.
She also participated at Wimbledon in 2007 and played into the fourth round. There she defeated players like Tatiana Golovin or Elena Dementieva, but lost to Svetlana Kuznetsova from Russia.
In 2007 she represented Austria in the Fed Cup.
